A Medjool price on its own tells you very little. The useful part is the listing name beside it, because that name holds the grade label, the pack format and the total weight you are paying for. This guide takes one Malaysian date wholesaler's price list, checked in October 2026, and reads its nine Medjool listings part by part. If you came looking for Harga Kurma Medjool in Malaysia, every ringgit figure below is from that one list.
What sits inside a Medjool listing name
Take "Medjool Palestin Jumbo 2026 - 500gr * 12pkt" as an example. It names the variety, an origin label, a grade label, a year, and a pack made of twelve 500g packets, so 6kg in total. Not every name has every part. Three of the nine have no year at all, and one is simply a single 900g box.
The origin label is the same on all nine: Palestine, written "Palestine" in some names and "Palestin" in others. Medjool as a variety originated in Morocco. It is a large, very soft date with a rich caramel taste.
The grade labels are Large, Jumbo, Premium Jumbo and Super Jumbo. These are the importer's own size sorting, not an international standard, so a "Jumbo" from one seller and a "Jumbo" from another need not match.

The nine listings, read part by part
| Grade label | Pack as listed | Total weight | Price (RM) | RM per kg | Stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premium Jumbo | 5kg pack | 5kg | 280 | 56.00 | In stock |
| Super Jumbo | 5kg pack | 5kg | 315 | 63.00 | In stock |
| Jumbo | 12 × 500g packets | 6kg | 355 | 59.17 | In stock |
| Jumbo | 8 × 900g packets | 7.2kg | 448 | 62.22 | In stock |
| Jumbo | one 900g box | 0.9kg | 70 | 77.78 | In stock |
| Jumbo | 12 × 500g packets | 6kg | 290 | 48.33 | Out of stock |
| Large | 5kg pack | 5kg | 250 | 50.00 | Out of stock |
| Large | 8 × 1kg packets | 8kg | 394 | 49.25 | Out of stock |
| Large | 24 × 250g packets | 6kg | 355 | 59.17 | Out of stock |
One grade label, four different prices
Plain "Jumbo" appears on four listings. Per kilo they came to RM48.33, RM59.17, RM62.22 and RM77.78. That is a spread of RM29.45 a kilo inside a single grade label. Two of the four even share the same 12 × 500g packet format, at RM290 and RM355, and only the RM355 one was in stock. So the grade word cannot be the whole comparison.
Large shows the same thing on a smaller scale. Its three listings ran from RM49.25 to RM59.17 a kilo, although none of them was in stock.
Pack size does not move the price in a straight line
You might expect bigger units to work out cheaper per kilo every time. This list says otherwise. The in-stock Jumbo in 500g packets (RM59.17 a kilo) came out cheaper than the Jumbo in 900g packets (RM62.22 a kilo). Among the Large listings, eight 1kg packets (RM49.25 a kilo) were cheaper than one 5kg pack (RM50 a kilo), but both were cheaper than twenty-four 250g packets.
The single 900g box did sit at the top, at RM77.78 a kilo. Even so, the safe habit is to divide the price by the total weight in the name every time instead of assuming.

The year in the name
Six of the nine Medjool names include "2026". The list does not say what that year refers to, whether a packing date, a stock batch or something else. If the year matters to you, ask the seller directly what it means for that listing.
What was actually in stock
Five of the nine listings were in stock: Premium Jumbo and Super Jumbo in 5kg packs, the two Jumbo packet multipacks, and the 900g box. All three Large listings and the RM290 Jumbo listing were out of stock. Among the in-stock five, the lowest price per kilo was the Premium Jumbo 5kg pack at RM56 and the highest was the 900g box at RM77.78. The Super Jumbo 5kg pack cost RM35 more than the Premium Jumbo 5kg pack; the list gives no size figures for either label.
Demand for dates in Malaysia peaks before and during Ramadan, with other peaks around Hari Raya, weddings, kenduri and umrah gifts. Stock and prices can change between a check and the day you buy, so recheck close to the date.
